Compliance Overview
Every property in PMFriend has a compliance register auto-generated from state rules on the day it joins the portfolio. Smoke alarms, pool certificates, gas certificates, electrical, minimum-standards (VIC), insurance expiries, routine inspections.
What's included by default
PMFriend ships with platform defaults for all 8 Australian jurisdictions: VIC, NSW, QLD, WA, SA, TAS, ACT, NT. Each rule is keyed on:
- State (VIC, NSW, …)
- Category (smoke alarm / pool / gas / electrical / insurance / inspection)
- Cadence (annual, 2-yearly, 5-yearly, on-turnover, …)
- Friendly display name (so reminders read "Smoke alarm annual test", not a UUID)
The register is visible on every property's detail page under the Compliance tab.

Reminders, not legal guarantees
This is important. PMFriend's compliance register is a reminder. It is not a legal certification that you are compliant. We say this in plain English on every compliance view:
ⓘ These are reminders based on common state rules. They don't replace professional advice or state-specific exemptions. Always verify with your principal / legal team.
The reason: AU compliance is full of edge cases ("does this property count as a Class 2 building?", "is a shared pool 'on the property'?") that we can't adjudicate from a CSV import. Reminder value is huge, legal value would require a licence we don't have.
